For an organization to successfully implement or benefit from an ISO 15189 POCT Accreditation system, internal auditors must be properly trained to evaluate compliance with standard requirements. Auditors should also be capable of assessing suppliers and supporting quality initiatives within the organization.

To enhance professionalism, many quality auditors seek formal registration with IAF-AB (UK). One of the key prerequisites for such registration is successful completion of an IAF-AB (UK) approved auditor training programme.
